This is arranged on an individual basis. We communicate with families and provide the necessary level of supervision for your child. If desired, children may spend the whole week under our supervision taking part in all of our family activities outside of the JLA programme. The JLA holiday programme for young learners is a busy programme and students normally have only one afternoon free to explore the island, or do some souvenir shopping. Supervision during the free afternoon is also possible.

JLA has its own minibusses but it is sometimes necessary for students to use the local bus service to get to and from a central meeting point. Younger students who are not used to travelling by public transport will be transported exclusively by David or Lady. We ask parents to budget for £15 per week for bus journeys, just in case.

You are welcome to call David or Lady on their mobile phones or via WhatsApp to speak to your child. Your child can also call you via WhatsApp using our telephones if they need to speak to a parent..

All lesson materials are provided, including text books, grammar reference books and dictionaries. You should bring a pen and A4 note book for your studies. For our activity programmes, all specialist equipment is provided, but you should bring swimwear and a pair of trainers or surf booties for going in the water. A waterproof jacket and warm clothing is essential. Although Jersey has a lovely climate it does still rain at times!

For the Adventure Camp, students need to bring a sleeping bag, pillow case, headlamp and sandals or flipflops.

On booking we provide a comprehensive list of things to bring with you.

Our course fees include everything apart from a little spending money for things like the cinema, ice creams, extra snacks and shopping! We recommend between £30 and £50 per week.

Meals at the Adventure Camp are tasty and nutritious and we aim to cater for any special dietary needs. Please just tell us your requirements.

Activities are arranged according to the weather and sea conditions, but we ask you to specify a preference on your reservation form so that we can try and fulfill your wishes.

Our Health and Safety management system ensures that we maintain the highest possible standards when it comes to first aid, fire precautions, sanitation, accommodation, staff training and assessment, risk assessments, and insurance. For more information please refer to our Health and Safety page.

Students are required to take out their own travel insurance. JLA is not responsible for delayed or cancelled boats to and from France.

We would be happy to meet you. Just send us an email and we’ll organise a meeting.
